I learned how to do makeup this year. The year I turned 40. Is it landing for you that the best year to learn makeup was quite literally more than two decades earlier than when it happened for me? You know what, it’s fine. It’s fine! I did other things when I was a teen like develop the ability to be funny via a self-minimizing inner monologue fueled by being bullied, don’t worry about ME, missy! I’ve spent a bit of time mulling over the idea of lateness, lately. The societally supported feeling that we’re “late” to do something, achieve a milestone, or reach any life marker we attach importance to that makes us feel behind. I think the notion of being “behind” is absurd, and I think the idea of being “late” isn’t real.
