Relevant Resolutions For Single Women
Happy 2026.
Welcome to Cheaper Than Therapy, a newsletter by Shani Silver.
If you do nothing else this New Year’s Day (I actually recommend doing nothing else on New Year’s Day), please resolve to leave behind every aggressively productive New Year’s Resolution list, reel, or post you come across in favor of giving yourself some grace. After the 2025 of it all, I think we’ve earned it. We’re don’t always need to fix, solve, optimize, hack, and manifest our way to some endlessly chase-able idea of betterness. I would rather start my year with gratitude for everything I have, and everything I’ve done, than live in a perpetual state of improvement for improvement’s sake. If that sounds lazy, so be it. If that sounds nice, keep reading.
Below is a list of New Year’s Resolutions for single women specifically, those of us who make plans and set goals for the year ahead alone, and maybe always have. We’re also a cohort that understands intimately how unmet goals and unrealized desires aren’t failures, or reasons for fault-finding. Instead, they’re simply continuing chapters in our stories, and the narratives that don’t serve us can always be reframed. Slowly, but in very real ways, the perception of single women is changing. Happy New Year to those of us who always knew it needed to.
